AVS has come a long way from starting with the three Founders (Gladis Hwang, Mounir Azar, and Partha Mukherjee) to our many employees across the US and merging with Altura in 2022.The future is bright here at AVS, and we can't wait for many more years to come. AVS History/BackgroundOn June 15th, 1998, the AVS founders (Gladis Hwang, Mounir Azar & Partha Mukherjee) officially registered AVS, Inc in the commonwealth of PA and soon thereafter began to execute Bio-Pharma projects in PA and NJ personally. Prior to that, the partners worked well together as key managers at an Architecture & Engineering firm, Life Sciences Int’l (LSI), located in downtown Phila. In 1997-98, LSI began to decline, and business was slow, especially in Process Engineering. LSI began to lose key staff. With no sign of recovery, the three partners agreed to resign and establish our own consultancy. AVS' focus was on Automation & Validation. Soon thereafter, we added more services and developed a good headcount of engineers and scientists. AVS began engaging in international engineering & validation projects with great success. "Back To The Lab"Some of you have noticed that I have been unusually quiet on LI over the last few weeks.Well…You’re right, and there is a good reason… My passion has been my work, even before I became a molecular biologist.I have always strived to do what I love, and to do it at the highest level.Whether that was collegiate baseball, the military, or the sciences.I believe that “where focus goes, your energy flows”, and for that reason, I have always remained more than motivated, I have remained disciplined. Disciplined in making sure that I was doing what I loved, with people I cared about, supporting a mission I believed in.That was true when I founded the Global Trial Budget Management team and it was true when I co-founded the Novartis Biome. Having come from meager beginnings on a small Caribbean island, I found myself constantly asking if I could really succeed at any of this…and each day I convinced myself that “I’ll learn”, because having nothing, is everything I need to succeed.Now, the Novartis Biome is in a new stage of evolution.It has grown from a mere idea, to an efficient system of over a dozen Biome Hubs across the globe that has had real impact across the healthcare ecosystem, and in countless patient lives. However, this means I too must once again evolve, find focus and rediscover my passion and next step.I have found myself walking comfortably, when I was built to run towards my goals.It is time for me to go “back to the lab” and create yet another…better…refocused…and committed version of myself that is prepared to step into the shoes I was meant to wear.Where will this evolution take me?...I do not know.But what I do know, is that no matter where, I will once again be ready and willing to jump…and grow wings on the way down. ♻️🌿𝓢𝓾𝓼𝓽𝓪𝓲𝓷𝓪𝓫𝓲𝓵𝓲𝓽𝔂 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓝𝓮𝓽 0 🌿♻️Let’s think “𝓖𝓻𝓮𝓮𝓷𝓮𝓻” 🟢, shall we⁉️.But bear with me- I’m not going to write about 🌿🌲☘️- it’s the BIGGER/WIDER picture….Somehow this was “last weeks” main topic and this week just started around it too! 🤷♀️.🟢Talking with a few different #nhs departments about the different #poct devices around, I realized that a few of them had at least 3/4/5 𝓭𝓲𝓯𝓯𝓮𝓻𝓮𝓷𝓽 𝓭𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓬𝓮𝓼 to be able to do different tests….And I get it! I totally get it- 𝓶𝓸𝓼𝓽 𝓸𝓯 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓽𝓲𝓶𝓮𝓼 it’s just needed! There’s no other way (bear with me, I promise it will make a bit more sense in the end... 😉).♻️ So now, from a #sustainabilty point of view, think with me- these same 3/4/5 𝓭𝓲𝓯𝓯𝓮𝓻𝓮𝓷𝓽 𝓭𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓬𝓮𝓼 require:✅ 3/4/5 different suppliers;✅ 3/4/5 different deliveries ➡️ which equals to 3/4/5 different vans on the road 🚘;✅ 3/4/5 different testing ways, training requirements, reagents, etc etc etc….But 𝔀𝓱𝓪𝓽 𝓲𝓯 𝓘 𝓽𝓮𝓵𝓵 𝔂𝓸𝓾 that with our Dri-Chem (NX600/NX700) devices you can have #liver function, #bone function, CRP, calcium, #renal function, Magnesium, Creatinine, #glucose, #cholesterol, and plenty others all out of the same device⁉️😃 (Not forgetting the reliability and reproducibility of the results, of course!).Is this not thinking ♻️🟢⁉️.Not to mention the 𝓱𝓾𝓰𝓮 𝓬𝓸𝓶𝓶𝓲𝓽𝓶𝓮𝓷𝓽 that Fujifilm Healthcare UK, Fujifilm Europe , Fujifilm UK has to Sustainability! I take a chance to write a rare own message, dedicated to our people who work for Moticon AG. 2023 has both been extraordinary exciting, but also super challenging. We are back on the scene to rumble the last quarter after a few weeks of work behind the scenes, tying new bonds and taking a breath or two. I dare giving credits for some of the most outstanding topics of the year:We have initiated a state co-funded research project on normative data for screening tests in performance sports, generated with #rego #sensorinsole and with close to 300 elite athletes been tested so far in Germany, Sweden, Austria and the U.S. - which will help trainers to make their athletes better and keep them away from injuries (https://lnkd.in/e8ZAJniS).We’ve been onboarded as the #wearabletechnology lead in whopping three major clinical projects aiming at new #digitalbiomarker, our second business cornerstone. One of them, with Novartis, counts 23 clinical sites in 8 nations. The other one, with Regeneron, includes the first ever #rego patient home testing protocol. The third, with Celestra Health Systems, is for enhancing Multiple Sclerosis patients’ care and a masterpiece in integration speed using our #sensorinsole #insole3 (https://lnkd.in/exmvS5Ph).Not to mention a new FDA project who have chosen Moticon as a representative #wearabletechnology for a new gait database (https://lnkd.in/eNU4PZCq).This is besides the daily business: sourcing, production, logistics and customer service for a growing user and partner base in Asia-Pacific, such as Galore Systems, and, most of all, in the U.S. - with outstanding customers such as Stanford University School of Medicine, Rush University Medical Center, University of Southern California and so many others.I sometimes wonder how we manage to do all that with such a small number of people. The clue is: hands on mentality, super professional, dedicated, operational excellence.
