How to Get Poes in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Before you can start collecting Poes, you'll need to get the Paraglider so you can do the main story quest Camera Work in the Depths, which will lead you into The Depths.

It's going to be very dark and dangerous in The Depths when you first arrive there, so be sure to bring at least 10 Brightbloom Seeds (found in Hyrule Caves). You'll also want to be wary of gloom, a strange red and black substance that will reduce your maximum hearts if it touches you for a few moments.

Once you've reached the bottom of The Depths, you can begin searching for Poes. However, remain alert and watch where you step, as it will be dangerous in certain areas, especially around fearsome foes and gloom.

The Poes appear all over The Depths, so explore as you like, and you'll likely spot the cool blue flames of Poes glowing in the distance—then all that's left to do is run up to them and pick them up, assuming no dangers are lurking nearby.

What to Do with Poes

After collecting some Poes from The Depths, make your way to Lookout Landing located south of the Hyrule Castle Town Ruins. Once there, you can exchange your Poes for some helpful rewards at the Bargainer Statue.

You may have noticed the Bargainer Statue at the back of Josha's workshop while exploring Lookout Landing, but now that you have at least one or more Poes, it will call out for them as you approach.

The first time you Pray to the Bargainer Statue, you can ask it about Poes and offer it a Poe. Select "Here is a Poe for you," and it will return the Poe to the afterlife and give you a Dark Clump. Then the statue will then offer you suitable compensation in exchange for more Poes.

Poe Reward List

When you first access the Poe rewards at the Bargainer Statue, there will only be five options available, with two of them notably helpful, such as the Dark Clump and Dark Tunic.
