A little more than two and a half years

School District passed a $27 million bond
package to fund construction of a middle
school, students will begin classes Monday at
the new campus.
The new school delivers on a number
of items promised nearly three years ago
by bond supporters, including safety-related
issues. While the old campus has more than
40 entrances, the new building is self-con-
tained with only a handful of entrances. And
all of those will be locked during school hours
except for the front door, which steers visitors
into the campus administration office.
