“This is 1944 Jeep from World War II made by Ford. In the pictures its the one that is green (red one sold long ago) It has the original drivetrain to include a GPW Ford engine, T84 trans and Ford Transfer case. Axles and steering are original. Windshield, bumperettes and many other parts are present. it’s a project that needs restoration. Engine and trans internals have been removed for inspection. Two engine connecting rods were removed for another engine. The block and trans case are usable. Trans and engine would need complete overhaul. Seats are not original to the jeep. Front frame horns will need repair. have aftermarket parts like bumper, fuel tank sump, hat channels etc that will go with it for free. Have an extra tub for parts if you want included for free. This jeep looks awesome in pictures but lots of bondo was used by someone. Lots of small misc parts and canvas for seats will go with this. Have bill of sale only. Will not part out sorry. Engine serial # is 92623, frame 248890, body 134777. Would consider trades for a WW2 1/2 ton chevy or dodge project worth the same or less.”

This has a Toyota drivetrain.

“This is a great running jeep. It run and drives good with an all toyota drivetrain (20R engine, 5 speed transmission, toyota t case, and toyota 8″ front and rear end.) Great modification to the jeep and makes a lightweight jeep even lighter! The 20R moves the jeep down the road very well. IMO these were the best 4×4’s ever made, mainly because they were 2100 lbs from the factory! If you are looking for a fun toy this is it! It runs, drives, stops, steer, and starts all very well. Tires are almost brand new. comes with a brand new rebuilt 5 speed and rebuilt transfer case with 3.8:1 low gears swapped in it. $3800 OBO”

Marc spotted this article about a 500lb lightweight airborne jeep-like vehicle from a poston Jalopnik. The vehicle was feature in theJuly 1958 issue of Popular Mechanics (pg 83). It demonstrates that the lightweight airborne program that started during WWII was still ongoing.

Anne Palmer, the wife of long time reader Brian Palmer, has a photo that’s been selected by Bushwhacker for a Facebook contest. If Anne get’s the most votes, they’ll get free entry into next year’s Jamboree. She took the photo out of the back of their 3B during this year’s Jamboree.

New 100 amp GM 1 wire alternator. Has power steering with tilt column, power brakes, and 33×12.50 Goodyear mud tires. New brake lines. Hydraulic clutch. Runs and drives, and might make a good hunting or ranch rig, but would never be road worthy because the frame has been broken and welded back together in a few places, and is most likely not straight. “Got a early model Willys Jeep Cj2a 40’s era. Has the original straight 4 Go Devil Engine very strong doesnt smoke. Recently updated the 6 volt system to 12 volt. New rebuilt Starter, coil, rebuilt Distributor, body is in really good shape, new gas tank, pretty new from the front fenders back. If you’ve ever owned one you know they will climb or push over near anything, This thing is full time 4×4 right now. The brakes have air in the lines and I think the front pads might be a little stuck from sitting cause it makes a slight noise. Runs and Drives good. Might negotiate on my price a little”
