Find out details about the LOV vegan restaurant chain, located in the Greater Montreal region, Canada.
LOV VEGAN RESTAURANT NETWORK
With three locations throughout the Montreal region, including one in the heart of Old Montreal, LOV is a chain of vegan restaurants that aims to offer tasty and responsible plant-based cuisine, allowing you to make healthy choices for both customers and the planet. The restaurant's name is actually an acronym for Local, Organic, Vegetarian (local, organic and vegetarian) and was developed by Dominic Bujold. The idea is to offer dishes produced with organic ingredients, from local producers and, of course, of plant origin.

The menu offers exclusively plant-based options and is very diverse, with dishes from different types of cuisine, including curries, tacos, burgers and pastas and even vegan desserts inspired by French and American recipes. There's also a special weekend brunch menu, with waffles, pancakes, bagels, granola bowls, smoothies and more.

OUR EXPERIENCE AT LOV RESTAURANT
We went to dinner at LOV McGill, in downtown Montreal, on our last night in the city. We had high expectations due to the reviews we had read about the restaurant. As we had made reservations in advance, we didn't have to wait long to be seated. It was a good choice because the restaurant was getting more and more crowded, as it was a Friday night.

As we weren't super hungry because we had eaten well at lunch, we decided to skip the starters and go straight to the main course. Paulo asked for the Coconut Curry, a dish with roasted pumpkin, carrots and house-made curry sauce served over basmati rice and decorated with cashews and coriander. I ordered one Big LOV Cheeseburger, a vegetable burger with lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, special sauce, vegan cheddar cheese on a brioche-style bun, accompanied by a salad instead of fries.

As I've said before, I'm not a big fan of sweets and that's why we always share dessert. This time, we decided to order the Brownie, a homemade chocolate brownie with seasonal syrup, lemon and fresh thyme.

The restaurant has a beautiful decor, it's very pretty and the food is good, but we didn't like some things at all. First, the place is very noisy! I don't know if it was because of the building's acoustics, but it was difficult to hear one's own thoughts in the room. Lots of people talking at the same time, at high volume it was quite disruptive. Another weak point is the service, which we found to be very poor. Not only because it is extremely time-consuming (the manager came to serve us because she noticed that no waiter was passing by our table), but also quite clumsy. At the table behind us, a waiter broke a wine glass (empty, fortunately) on one of the customers. On our bill, there was a charge for something we hadn't ordered and we had to complain so they could remove it. In other words, there is room for improvement.
